Who Started Smoking??

So Adam had a conference in St. George last Thursday and Friday so we headed down on Wednesday night. When we drove up to my parents house I immediately noticed a pan sitting outside on the driveway. Then my Dad came out to help us bring our luggage in and he smelled like smoke, not just smoke, but something similar to cigarette smoke. Walking into the house the smell of stale smoke slammed into my face. Pan outside plus Smelly Dad plus Stinky house equals... My Mom left a pan of beans on high and left for an hour and a half.
The result was days and days of stinky stale smokey smell. We cleaned and we cleaned and we tried to get it to smell better. We used candles and air fresheners and vacuumed and wiped the walls down with ammonia and dusted all the shelves with lemon scented wood polish. It was crazy. We worked our butts off and the result... ya it still stinks. Not quite as bad but it still stinks. It smells like it's a smoker's home and they tried to get rid of the smell by covering it up with air freshener.

So I am a major slacker and never got 9 month pictures of Kevin, so I saw my photographer in the store the other day and made an appointment for pictures before he starts to walk. So she posted a few pictures on her blog so here is the link check it out

My Cheerio Boy

Kevin loves to eat... I mean he LOVES it. He had a bottle at 11:45, he ate Mac and Cheese at 12:30, then Dad had some ice cream and Kevin was flipping out because he couldn't have any so I gave him cheerios instead. I mean you would think that he was so full he couldn't move, but no no he keeps saying "bring it on."

Our Family Outing

We went to Kolob Reservoir on Saturday afternoon with Adam's family to go canoeing. We got there and the wind decided to start blowing. It was actually a really nice day even though it was a little chilly. So I bundled Kevin up and sat him on the rocks. If you click on this picture you can see his funny little expression really well. It was fun to be with family.

Mischievouslittle Kevin has just recently discovered rocks. He picks them up, studies them, and then of course tries to put them in his mouth.
My mother-in-law Nancy
He was a happy little chunk.
Mariah and Jeremy (Adam's little sister and her husband) Adam and I tried to T-bone them in the canoes, because Mariah was so terrified of getting tipped over. The water was freezing, I definitely did NOT want to go in.
Bill and Nancy Endsley. I am so glad they came even though they had tons of other things to get done. We love hanging out with them.
We had to bring a whole load of stuff down to the shore so in order to get it back up we just threw it all into the pack and play (with Kevin still inside) and walked it back to our car.
Adam hates when I get the camera out because I always have to have 4-5 pictures taken to get the shot just right, so sometimes he tickles me to tryand get back at me. (which actually makes it worse because then we have to take yet another shot... maybe he will learn one of these days.)

Our family

Kevin has learned some new tricks in the last couple of weeks. We taught him how to clap, and just yesterday he started to click his tongue. It's so cute because he copies you with a lot of things and he bobs his head all the time now too. I love watching him grow and develop. He has also become such a Daddy's boy. I pick him up sometimes and he immediately whines and twists his body to get to his Dad. He likes me still most of the time.

So Tired...So hungry...what to do... what to do.

Here's our little tired boy. He was so tired but needed to eat, so he just went to sleep as he ate.

I even changed his diaper and he was still out like a light

The bottle was stuck to his mouth like this for about 45 minutes. It was so funny we just let him conk.

We Love To Read

So, lately I have been reading a lot. Mostly because as most of you already know the last twilight book came out... "Breaking Dawn". I realize that I absolutely love to read. I get something out of it that I can't get anywhere else. I crave a good book, even if it is just a fantasy book like the Twilight series. My clients often recommend good books to me and finally one of my clients brought one in for me to read. It is called "Yearning for the living God" by F. Enzio Busche. He is an emeritus of the seventy who grew up in Germany during WW2. He tells of his growing up years with the Hitler Youth and about the perception the natives in Germany had. It is so interesting to read his side of History if you will. I would definitely recommend it.
Anyway my point in all of this, is that I really want to instill in Kevin a love of reading. I love to read because it expands my knowledge and excites my imagination. So it excites me when I pull out a book and he B-lines it straight to the book. He LOVES books. Thank Goodness, and when I sit down to read to him his hands go all crazy and he gets super excited. Hence the picture. He is actually super tired in this picture so he doesn't look excited but he is.

Share Share Share Alike...

Emmy attempting to drink Kevin's bottle...
Kevin wasn't bugged one bit.
Kevin sucking on Emmy's binky...
Emmy wasn't bugged one bit.
They have always shared, and taken from each other... It's fun to watch. I think they'll be good buddies!!

You learn something new every day!!!

I went upstairs to get Emmy's bed ready ( I am watching my friends little girl), and when I came down I found Kevin trekking up the stairs with Emmy not far behind. Ya... that is so scary... it's definitely time to get the gates out.

"oh hey... Mommy is up there, I think I'll go get her.
"Oh this is harder than I thought"
"I just have to put one leg in front of the other, and then I will get to where Mommy is."
"Wow, I sure am up high"
(5 stairs to be exact...scary right)
