Trusting

I am sitting here in the dark just contemplated all that is going on in our lives. Boxes surround me and I would be lying if I said it didn't break my heart a little to see our home like this. Our first home has been so wonderful. This is where Kevin learned to crawl, walk, talk, and now it is time for him to say "bye bye". I have to admit that it hasn't felt totally like home since Adam left for Arizona in the middle of June, nevertheless part of my heart will always be here. We have made so many wonderful friends here in Cedar City and life will never be the same, which is the bittersweet end to this chapter in our lives. Life goes on... bigger and better things await us, but I can't seem to transition just yet, maybe because life is still in Limbo until our little girl gets here, or maybe because I have loved it here so much.
When all is said and done and the last box is put into the Uhaul, I guess all there is left to say is that Adam and I both know for sure that the Lord has blessed us every single step of the way. Great friends, a good home, and a future quite different than the one we imagined. I am happy despite the tears rolling down my face. I guess it is just hard to say Goodbye. We will roll with the punches from here on out and hope and pray that those reading this do so too. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Prov. 3:5-6

Now the inevitable, Goodbye dear house, Cedar City and friends... you have forever changed us.

My Flower

Adam and I were talking tonight about Kevin, and I think it has both just kind of hit us lately how much we love this little guy. Not that we didn't know it before, but being apart from each other sure makes you notice what truly matters the most to you, and that really is Family.

I just have to say that I can't get enough of Kevin. My Mom was up the other day to help kick me into gear and she took Kevin on a walk. When they got back he came through the door with this little sunflower and tried to give it to me (of course I had color all over my hands so I didn't get to fully enjoy the precious moment), but I just felt so much joy over receiving my first flower from my child. And while this flower is all wilted now, I almost couldn't bring myself to throw it away, but I did in hopes that there will be many many more in the future.

Fun in the Sun

We went swimming today, which is of course the only fun thing you can do in the sun here in good ol' Arizona.
Kevin was just too cute while eating his lunch, I just had to snap a few pictures.

Kevin and my niece Ella love to sit across from each other at this little table, it is so cute, they just sit there and laugh at each other.
Kevin absolutely would not eat his spaghetti tonight. So then I tried giving him just plain noodles. He LOVED it. That too, was really funny.

Wiggle it, just a little bit!!

My parents have these little wiggle cars which every single one of the grandkids absolutely LOVE, including of course Kevin. So here a few pictures of him getting his ride on. These are mostly for you Adam.

Kevin loves and misses you. We are so excited to see you on Friday.

Wow... this is weird

We had a little going away party for Adam last night as he is moving to AZ right now. Of course I got an ice cream cake for him that said we'll miss you on it.
Adam and Curtis, his best ex-roomate (inside joke).

Kevin and Daddy chillin' yesterday.
Today right before he left, I wanted to take a picture so that Kevin could look at it and not forget Daddy.

Our little family right before he left, I didn't know I had that much water in me to cry out, but all of my make-up is officially not there anymore.

Bye Bye Daddy/Adam. We love you and will miss not having you here at our house. We will be with you soon though, we just need to sell our house. Good Luck on your new job.

"I'm Bad"

Does anyone else find it funny that my son was running around with a necklace and a Michael Jackson sort of glove on??? Maybe it's just me, but I thought it was hillarious.

Icky

When I signed up for this whole "Mom" thing, I was pretty sure it was going to be great. Along with the great, I was also sure of one other thing, there would definitely be poop, spit up, and days when the throw up never ended. Well my friends... while I have experienced a lot of the first two, I have actually managed to make it almost 20 months without the throw up part. Until yesterday afternoon. I have to be honest when I say, I didn't know if I would be able to handle it, I mean come on... throw up stinks, it really makes you want to hurl yourself. But when I look at Kevin's little whiny face and eyes while his stomach lurches, I cannot help but wish I could take over, and experience the pain for him, yet all I can do is hold him and not even care that I smell just as bad as he does.
He is so completely miserable, but still manages to smile at us. I swear, he is the best thing that has ever happened to Adam and I.
So back to my original statement, this "Mom" thing really is great, in fact it's greater than I ever could have imagined it, and I would take a million more of these days, because I love him so much. Heavenly Father sure knows what he's doing.

New Car... to us at least

We bought a new car. Okay not necessarily new, just new to US, . In fact it's old. 9 years old to be exact. It's been around the block a few times which shows with it's 117,000 miles. But we got a STEAL of a DEAL. $2500. Pretty good for a Toyota Corolla that will go till at least 200 thou, probably more like 300. It gets great gas mileage which is what we need for Adam and his new JOB. Which by the way he starts in like two weeks. (We heard from his supervisor yesterday and he sounds like a really cool guy). Anyway, we are super excited to have two cars again especially since it has been 8 months with just the ONE.
So that's what we've been up to, what about you?

Birthday Mom

I woke up this morning and immediately thought of my Mother. It is her birthday today and I still can't believe she is turning 58. I have told some of my clients this and they tell me I must be lying. She does NOT look even close to that age and I must say I TOTALLY agree.
My Mother is one of the sweetest people I know. She is always helping/serving/caring for someone other than herself. Anyone who knows her will attest to that. Those who know her best will also tell you that she is humble, she has NO idea how great she is. So I am writing this post to let her know just how fabulous we all find her.
Mom, instead of the Birthday card you told me not to get for you, I am writing it here. You are one of my biggest heroes, you give me strength and unconditional love. I feel so blessed to be able to call you one of my best friends, and I LOVE that we can talk about most anything. You let me analyze life with you and come up with solutions. You inspire me by your dedication and determination... I mean you run marathons for heavens sake. You help me with all those little "Mother" things like cooking, raising my child, and being Dr. Mom. I really love you. Hopefully, my actions of love speak louder than my words for there is not way to adequately describe/express my exact feelings.
All I can say is thank you for being you, and I am glad that we have you in our lives. Yeah for your birthday!!! I hope it is super super special.
